Illinois minimum wage increases starting January 1, 2024

Minimum wage $ 14.00

Tipped wage     $   8.40

Under 18           $ 12.00

New employees (first 90 days of employment) over 18 may be paid up to

50 cents less per hour.

Illinois Paid Leave for all workers

Workers earn 1 hour of paid leave for every 40 hours they work.

This is mandatory.

Workers rollover all unused paid leave at end of year.

Missouri minimum wage increases starting January 1, 2024

Minimum wage $ 12.30

Tipped wage     $   6.15

Bonus

A bonus paid (any cash payment) to your employee is wages.

A bonus is subject to taxes but you only need to withhold social security & medicare tax.

     The federal and state withholding can be paid by the employee when he files taxes.

The following examples give the employee an even net pay.
